The Advantages of BLENDFEST (Anti Glare)-Technology

All cameras suffer from glare when faced with a scene containing extremes of dark
and light. Our high-dynamic range cameras promise to put an end to such problems.

BLENDFEST-HDRI-technology provides clear, high-contrast and colour-true pictures without
any blooming or smearing even in the most difficult lighting conditions.

The BLENDFEST-HDRI-anti-glare camera system consists of a special complementary metal
oxide semiconductor (CMOS)image sensor, and an additional image processing unit.
With this technology we have the option to display considerably more details in shaded and
very bright sections of a picture.

In the camera, integrated electronics select up to four continuous images with different
exposure times and those with the best exposure quality are com binend in real-time using a multi-
exposure algorithm.

The images are taken with a camera head from the NanoVesta technology platform.

The system is adaptable for video based security and surveillance technology (CCTV) for traffic
control, and building monitoring machine vision, production supervision (such as monitoring and
quality control), automotive applications, and medical technology.

BLENDFEST-HDRI, the technology

Using the model of human vision, the camera records 50 images per second. In human vision the pupil
adjusts rapidly to scene of light and dark. The brain merges images to provide a wider tonal range
than the eyes is capable of perceiving.
The result is an image that boasts a maximum dynamic range of 118 dB, which compares favourably to
amateur cameras, with images of 60dB. This is equivalent to a number of presentable grey values
three orders of magnitude higher than amateur photography.

Example: Frontlighting situation-conventional

Here you can see a difficult light situation for a conventional camera.
Both pictures are useless for a cctv application.

Example: Frontlightingsituation -multi exposure algorithm

The under- and overexposed pictures are rendered together in only one picture.
The result is a high dynamic picture, which display considerably more details in shaded and
very bright sections.
